Captain's Log Hello once again and a good day was had by all down at the Deil's Cauldron for Brian and Katy's BASTILLE DAY BARBECUE. Fortune smiled on us as the weather turned warm and sunny and Brian's range of delights from the griddle were par excellence as usual. John was did his "bit" on the box - traditional Scottish music with some John Denver hits on the lineup to entertain the diners. Recently, we held our annual COMRIE FORTNIGHT petanque competion, the results of which are as follows:- Wed 30 July Thu 31 July - rained off Wed 6 Aug - rained off Thu 7 Aug |

Boulez Vous?
As the Summer fades away and the nights draw in, the
2008 Petanque season begins to wind down. After the cut and thrust of
the Comrie Fortnight Petanque competition, our worn out Petanquers take
a more mellow approach to the age-old game. The "gallic shrug"
replaces the growl of frustration, as another steel ball clatters against
the boards at the back of the piste.
But, despair not, there is still time to pit your wits against our seasoned amateurs and show them how it should be done before Winter brings it's icy grip. If you'd like the opportunity, then please come along and join in the fun. You can be sure of the friendly hospitality of your hosts and a warm welcome from the existing team members. |

From the Cellar
Why not treat yourself to a glass of something special from the range of fine wines available from our wine cellar?
Wether you prefer the young, refreshing, taste of a Beaujolis, the dark, dense, firm structure of a Cabernet Sauvignon or the delicate but complex overtures of a fruity Reisling, our wine cellar is bound to have something to suit your palate. You don't have to order a meal to take advantage of what we have to offer, simply relax at the bar and Katy will be happy to assist you in your choice. You can order by the glass or the bottle, whichever suits your mood. |
